The Moto RAZR 2019 rumours and hopes are piling up in these last few weeks after a Motorola patent filing was spotted some time ago. This time we have a video by Waqar Khan showing us a concept of what the RAZR remake might look like. It shows the phone opening and closing multitple times and multiple clips of the UI and how it may look. It’s especially interesting to see how the artist envisioned the closed flip interface and how notifications may be handled. And indeed it looks stunning and a definite eye turner.
What is interesting to not here is that the current foldable display technologies do not allow for the screen to be perfectly folded flat, at a 0-degree angle so theoretically there must be a gap somewhere around the hinge to allow the display to bend. Nonetheless, the model could become a reality, albeit with some changes from what we are seeing here today.
It remains to be seen whether Lenovo/Motorola will actually use that patent in a commercial product and make all our RAZR nostalgia dreams come true or if it is just another filing making sure no one snags the design. Fingers crossed.
